The registration process for 2010 - 2011 has begun! It really is hard to believe that we are more than halfway through the school year already!

On Monday, October 19th, 2009, the 3X5 Trimester schedule was approved for implementation at Celina High School for the 2010 - 2011 school year. This is an exciting announcement for CHS as we make plans to enter this new era for our school and students.

Many students & parents have questioned whether or not Post Secondary Option (often referred to as PSO) will be allowed on the Trimester. Rumor has it that students will no longer have this option. This rumor is not true!
Students will be allowed to participate in PSO programs under the Trimester!
Just as it operates now, students will be able to take college courses during the school day. We attempt to accomodate students to the best of our scheduling ability, but the bottom line is that students must schedule their college courses during the time slots allowed by their CHS schedule. We will continue to follow this method under the new schedule.
In addition, we are currently looking to work with Wright State University--Lake Campus to explore the possibility of offering Dual Enrollment Courses at CHS. Dual Enrollment simply means students would earn transferable college credit for high school courses taken at CHS while still earning high school credit.
Further questions regarding the PSO program and/or dual enrollment should be directed to the CHS office.

UPDATE:
The CHAMP meeting on the 2nd was well attended. Thanks to those of you that participated. We not only had several parents attend, many students joined the crowd as well. I encourage parents and students to continue to inquire about the change and how it will affect their high school career. |
